Our Inspiration - Late Smt Kamal Chugh
Ms. Kamal Chugh was a firm believer that women have an important role to play not only for the good upbringing of her children and family but also the welfare of the society and the country at large. After completing M.A., B.Ed. She started her career in 1963 as a lecturer in Ferozpur in the state of Punjab. Even as an educationist she has been taking keen interest in social work. Through her vision, leadership & empathy towards the needy for the last 50 years, she had been instrumental to bring together like minded women to lend helping hand to start Welfare Organizations like ITC Bhadrachalam Mahila Samiti, ITC Ladies and Social Welfare Society in Kolkata.
Divya Chaya Trust - Ms. Chugh was the Managing Trustee. This Trust was established in 1984 with the prime objective of educating, supporting and rehabilitating underprivileged children and women. Over the past three decades, this effort has touched the lives of several thousand children and women. It has grown into a strong movement. Ms. Chugh was involved with activities varying from sponsorships of children and Higher Education in Institution For The Blind, Amar Colony and S. D. Jain Mahila Ashram in Delhi. The students have been sponsored by SAC, UK & USA overseen by DCT. She had been instrumental in starting Literacy Project for women in 2012 with the sponsorship of AIWC, to empower them in skill training and make the women economically independent. One of the important projects is the Preventive Health Care which was started for the benefit of the beneficiaries. The community in the vicinity, the members and friends were very happy and grateful to Ms. Chugh for advising the home remedies for prevention and care of simple health problems.
